Your information, in plain language

The short version

The Member Link helps communities like a neighborhood association share events, collect RSVPs and find out what members want to do together. We collect only what that takes. We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not use advertising trackers.

What we collect

  • When you RSVP: your name, email, the number of adults and children in your party, and anything optional you choose to add (phone number, street address, the names of people coming with you, comments, and answers to the event's questions).
  • Your member account: joining creates a free account tied to your email. There is no password. You log in with a code we email you or, if you choose, with Google.
  • If you log in with Google: Google confirms your email address and shares your basic profile (name and profile picture). We never see your Google password and we do not get access to your Gmail, contacts, calendar or files.
  • Ideas you raise your hand for: which ideas you marked as interesting and whether you offered to help organize.
  • Basic usage counts: which pages and buttons get used, the page that referred you, and a random session identifier. We do not store your IP address for this and it is not linked to advertising.

Who can see it

  • Your community's administrators (for example, your association's board members who run the page) can see RSVPs and the member list for their community. Your street address is used to confirm you belong to the neighborhood.
  • Whoever organizes an event (an admin, or the member who posted it) can see the RSVPs, stops and questions for that event, so they can plan it.
  • Event hosts. When an outside host asks for a headcount (for example, a county office hosting an event), your community's organizer may share the number of attendees and, if the host needs it, attendee names. Nothing else is shared with the host.
  • Other members and the public only ever see totals, such as “24 going” or “12 interested.”
  • If you host a stop at an event like RiviereWalk, your stop name, address and listing are shown to members once an organizer approves it. Your phone number and email stay private.

Services we rely on

Your information is stored and processed by a small set of providers that run the service for us: Supabase (database and sign-in, hosted in the United States), Cloudflare (website hosting and email forwarding), Resend (sending confirmation and sign-in emails), and Google (only if you choose Google sign-in). They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing.

Emails we send

We send a welcome email when your account is created, RSVP confirmations, updates or cancellations you make, and login codes you request. We also send updates about new events and announcements in your communities; every update has an unsubscribe link, and you can turn them off from your member page. We do not send marketing email from third parties.

Changing or deleting your information

You can update or cancel an RSVP any time from the link in your confirmation email or from your member page. To correct your details, close your account, or have your information deleted, email hello@thememberlink.com and we will take care of it. We may keep a minimal record when we are required to, such as a count of attendees already reported to an event host.

Children

Accounts are for adults. A parent or guardian can include children in their party count, and we ask that you not enter more about a child than a first name.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a meaningful way we will update the date above and tell members by email. Questions are welcome at hello@thememberlink.com.
